Department of Employment Services Hospitality Information Session
We are passing on information about an employment session at the Trinidad Recreation Center tomorrow from 1pm – 4 pm.
“Today, I was informed about a Hospitality Information Session being hosted by the Department of Employment Services, Homewood Suites, and Hampton Inn. It is taking place tomorrow 1pm-4pm at Trinidad Recreation Center.
If you or someone else you know is interested in Hospitality Employment Opportunities, please have them contact me or forward their contact information to me so that I may pass along to Department of Employment Services. Interested candidates will be required to register in DCNetworks.org.
DOES informed me that there will be other sessions like this coming our way in the future and they ensured me that they will provide more advance notice.

TNA Meeting February 23rd
The next Trinidad Neighborhood Association (TNA) meeting will be at 7 pm on Tuesday, February 23rd. As usual, the meeting will be at the Trinidad Recreation Center at 1310 Childress Street NE.
Agenda items include:
- Community Relations Specialist with the DC Fire Department (DCFEMS) to talk about their new Third Party Provider Ambulance Service
- Office of Workforce Development, Department of Employment Services on workforce training and apprenticeships opportunities
- Regular updates from the Mayor’s office, Ward 5 Council Member’s office, and the DC Police Department
We look forward to seeing you at this meeting and to engage with you in 2016!
If you have not updated membership for 2016, we will be available before or after the meeting to update memberships for the calendar year. Dues remain at $5.00 per year and are tax deductible.
Upcoming Events in February
Trinidad Craft Salon: This first of three crafting salons will be held this evening, February 8th, at 7 pm at Capital Fringe (1358 Florida Avenue). See our previous post for additional details and come nurture your creative side.
Advisory Neighborhood Commission 5D Meeting: The next ANC5D meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 9th at 7 pm. Meetings are at the 5th District Police Station on Bladensburg Road. The agenda is posted on the ANC5D website. There are two very important items for development variances on the agenda that impact Trinidad. These are the properties at 1258 and 1264 Holbrook Terrance NE.
Trinidad Neighborhood Association Meeting: February 23rd is the next scheduled TNA meeting. Presenters include the Department of Employment Services (DOES) covering jobs and job training programs, the Metropolitan Police Department, and representatives of the Mayor’s and Councilmember’s offices. The meeting will be held at 7 pm at the Trinidad Recreation Center (1310 Childress Street NE).
Ward 5 Young Professionals Networking Mixer: This event is being held at Union Social (100 Florida Ave NE) from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, February 25th. This event is being organized by Councilmember McDuffie’s office.
