Rooting DC

Do the blizzard snows have you longing for spring weather and planting a garden? Do you already grow vegetables in your yard or want to get started next season? Sign up for Rooting DC, a free gardening forum that will be held on Saturday, February 27th at Wilson High School to learn new gardening skills and network with other urban gardeners.

The forum “aims to provide education about urban food production and consumption, to cultivate health and preserve the environment. The program includes dozens of interactive workshops, cooking and food preservation demonstrations, and panel discussions focusing on youth gardening, nutrition, sustainable growing techniques, and healthy food access. The event also hosts 60+ green businesses and nonprofit from throughout the region at an information fair.”

Read more about the forum on their website and follow links to register for the sessions.

A number of Trinidad residents attended last year and were able to put ideas into practice over the summer. Hopefully we will see more of us there and we can follow up on a neighborhood garden tour this summer!
