Dear Neighbors:

Have you ever walked by the corner of 6th Street and Florida Avenue on the Gallaudet side and wished it was a more open and inviting space? It soon will be- Gallaudet is pleased to announce that on September 2nd, 2015, an International Design Competition for Gallaudet University’s new 6th Street gateway will launch. This new gateway will physically open up the campus to our surrounding neighbors—you—and create opportunities for new relationships.

The International Design Competition will illuminate the exciting potential that Gallaudet University and its neighbors have to offer, and will bring in world-class designers and architects to collaborate with us to create a one-of-a-kind place. We want you to be a part of this transformation.

Our community-wide event for the launch of this competition will be on Monday, September 14th, 2015, from 7:00-8:30 pm at the Peikoff Alumni House, Gallaudet University. Please come to learn more about the competition, the impact, and the various ways you can contribute.
