Become a Reading Partner!

Can you share just one hour each week with a student in the neighborhood who is struggling to read? Become a reading partner today!

By becoming a reading partner and volunteering as little as one hour a week, you can help a child learn to read. We provide an easy to use curriculum and on-site staff support to enable volunteers to be effective tutors. You bring your commitment and we’ll help you with everything else. One of our partner schools is Wheatley Education Campus, located at 1299 Neal St NE, near the recreation center.

Trinidad resident Chester Eng has been volunteering with Reading Partners for over a year and says, “I love living in Trinidad, but I hadn’t gotten involved as much as I would have liked to. I thought Reading Partners would be a fulfilling, enriching, and productive way to become involved in the community. I just Googled “volunteer reading groups Trinidad Washington DC,” filled out the volunteer form, and I got a call about getting started the next day.”
