Free Outdoor Summer Movies at Union Market and NoMa

Union Market offers free outdoor movies again this summer. The films are projected onto the front of the building with a speaker system providing the sound. There is ample space to set up chairs or blankets or, for $10, you can park your car in the 6th Street lot for true drive-in style.

The Union Market Drive In is back, and just in time for Summer! Join us every Friday in June for “Flashback Fridays” where we will be showing our favorites flicks from the 80’s and 90’s.

June 5th: Jurassic Park

June 26th: Beverly Hills Cop

As always, the lot will open at 6 and the movie begins at 8. There is a $10 parking fee, but the event is free for walkers/bikers. For Tickets, click here.

Another outdoor movie series is set to get you dancing from Trinidad to NoMa, hosted by the NoMa Business Improvement District. Here’s what they have to say:

Get a watermelon and head over to the debut of NoMa Summer Screen on Wednesday, May 27. The 8th year of this popular outdoor movie series kicks-off with Dirty Dancing. In addition, this year’s danciest film series under the stars will be hosted in a new location at NoMa Junction @ Storey Park, a future development site at First and L Streets, NE, that will be transformed for 2015 into NoMa’s best temporary park yet. The new site is asphalt, so we highly recommend you bring low beach chairs or cushions.

The event starts at 7 PM, and films start at dark. DJs, giveaways, as well as the usual food trucks, picnicking, and more start when the doors open. All movies are screened with subtitles.
