Safe Sanctuary Saturday for Children & Teens
Safe Sanctuary
Every Saturday the Community United Methodist Church on Levis Street offers a day of activities for the youth in our community. Safe Sanctuary serves as a safe place to keep children and teens safe and engaged. The church welcomes all children as well as adults who want tutoring in math or reading. The program is free and has a capacity of 25 people.
Safe Sanctuary begins every Saturday with tutoring for Math/Reading from 7am – 10am, followed by life skills from 10am -11am. A snack is then provided from 11am – 12pm, followed by art/art therapy class from 12pm – 3pm. Finally, from 3pm – 5pm, there will be youth choir or liturgical dance rehearsal that is focused on enhancing church services. In the future there will be a ceramics class with a $10 registration fee.
Min. Lynda Parker and her team look forward to seeing your children and teens every Saturday from 7am – 5pm.
